Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art and combat sport that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting. It’s great for self-defence, sport grappling tournaments (gi and no-gi) and mixed martial arts (MMA) competition.
The ladies fitness classes are perfect if you want to keep fit, build strength and train with a great group of ladies who push each other to get in shape. It’s a fun, welcoming and sociable class open to all abilities and levels.
Our boxing classes are for beginners and experienced boxers. We focus on developing technique as well as improving overall fitness, strength and conditioning. From sparring to intense workouts, we've got you covered.
The kids Muay Thai classes are aimed at teaching children the discipline of Muay Thai in a way that’s fun and engaging. It's a great class for teaching kids self-defence as well as improving fitness and increasing self-confidence.
No Gi is grappling without the traditional uniform, instead you wear shorts and a rash guard. In no gi you cannot grab your opponent’s clothing. This class focusses on NoGi wrestling and grappling.
I have been a student of martial arts since the age of just 8 years old. I started my martial arts journey with karate before training in taekwondo where I achieved my Black Belt. While training in taekwondo, I competed in both national tournaments and open tournaments.
I’ve always loved muay thai and began studying under respected friend and instructor Kru Bobby Thompson. I graded under Master Sken and Kru John Craig and after many years of training, I was presented with my red and white kuarang from Kru John Craig and Kru Bobby Thompson. This was a very proud moment in my martial arts journey. While training in muay thai, I fought at amateur and professional level.
I am currently studying Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, training under Yousuf Nabi of Checkmat. I regularly compete in Jiu Jitsu as a Brown Belt, achieving gold, silver and bronze medals at European and National level.
I will always be a student of the arts and I continue to train and develop my own skills. As a coach, I lead by example, regularly testing myself out on the competition mats alongside my students.
I want to help every person who comes through the door at Fighters Hive to achieve their own personal goals. As a coach, I have a close relationship with each individual member and I strive to help and develop my student’s martial art skills while also improving their health, fitness and self-confidence. Whatever your fitness level or experience, make the first move and come along to Fighters Hive. We will be there with you every step of the way to help you achieve your goals.
